28-week Doctor Appointment

It's been the longest 4-weeks between doctor's appointments. Usually 4-weeks flys by. But with my worry and stress that followed for the weeks after my labor and delievery incident, this time, it didn't come fast enough. Anyway, my doctor's appt. went great. I had to re-tell my story about my fall at 24 1/2 weeks, because the doctor's don't get reports from the hospital. Instead, they remain in my hospital records. I think that's weird. I had lots of questions and concerns for the doctor, but Dr. Yakis was very caring and cautious about the events that occured. She answered all of my questions and then proceeded to take me into the ultrasound room just to check and make sure everything appeared normal. She turned the screen away before she started to make sure the baby wasn't breech, as she did not want to give away any surprises about the gender! Once she confirmed the baby was "head down" she turned the screen back so I could see. I wish we could've checked out the baby so I could have some updated photos, but of course she was more interested in the level of fluid in the amneotic sac and my cervix, which both looked fine and no signs of pre-term labor. What a relief. It's amazing how refreshing it was to hear those words come from the doctor's mouth. Oh and btw, the baby's heart rate was a whoppin' 165 beats per minute. It hasn't been that fast since my 8-week appointment. Makes me wonder if the 'ol wives tale is true about fast heart rate = girl??? Time will tell.
