Catch up Time!

It's been way too long since I've posted a blog, and so much has gone on in the past two months...I'll start with the most recent.

Preschool Graduation - June 2, 2010
Daniel graduated from Storybook Cottage preschool today! It was absolutely adorable to see all of the kids in their caps and gowns. The kids did a wonderful job reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, and singing many songs (one of which I could barely hold back tears). They also had a great video in which the teachers interviewed each kid. Daniel's question on the video was, "What does it mean to be a friend?" His reply was, "when you give somebody a toy, then you say thank you..." then he went rambling on. They also showed a slide show of the kids throughout the year in preschool. The song during the slide show almost brought me to tears (again)...Let Them be Little:
I can remember when you fit in the palm of my hand
Felt so good in it, no bigger than a minute
And how it amazes me, you're changing with every blink
Faster than a flower blooms they grow up all too soon...
So let them be little, cause they're only that way for a while. Give them hope, give them praise, give them love every day. Let them cry, let them giggle, let them sleep in the middle, oh just let them be little.....

Today was devoted to Daniel, so after graduation, Jay and I took him to John's Incredible Pizza to spoil him with pizza, dessert, and games. Daniel's was ecstatic about all of the games he could play and rides that he could ride! He loved the roller coaster, and every single game in that place. It was so fun to see the excitement each time tickets came spewing out of the machines. He loved "cashing" them in for lots and lots of trinkets in the end.

Jackson Rancheria Camping Trip May 21 - 23, 2010

Our first camping trip to kick off the summer was at one of our favorite campgrounds, Jackson Rancheria. It was great to get out of town and we met our friends (the Phillips) there. We spent a lot of time in the trailer because the weather was pretty cold and windy. Despite the chilly temps, Jay and Daniel managed to beat the weather and still go for a swim in the pool! We spent the days nibbling on good food, going for walks, flying kites, and just hanging out with our friends. Good times. One thing we will someday look back on and laugh at will be the sleeping arrangement issues...since Adam was the first to go to sleep, we had to place his pack n' play on top of our bed while we stayed up and watched T.V. Daniel fell asleep both nights in his bed (the fold out couch) while we were watching T.V. When Jay and I were ready for bed, we woke up Adam, folded up his pack n' play, moved it into the living room, and set it up again. Thankfully Adam was a trooper and fell back asleep both nights!

April - May 2010: Our big boy Adam is officially walking!

From about 6 steps at a time of his one-year mark, to just about one month after his first birthday, Adam mastered his walking technique. He occasionally falls, but walking is definitely his ideal method of transportation vs. crawling these days. Adam's growing up so fast and loves to chase his brother and do anything and everything that his big brother is doing (I know I say that every blog, but it is SO true, and it's the cutest thing ever to watch the admiration in his eyes!). He wants to eat the same things, play with the same toys, and follow his every move. Daniel even offered him a ride in his Jeep for the very first time which Adam thought was the greatest thing ever!
