Turkey Week 2010

What a great week this has been...so much to be thankful for. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving gathering at Nana and Papa Fred's house last Saturday and stuffed ourselves full of delicious food and lots of laughs. After two short days of work, we ventured out on Wednesday with the trailer in tow to Jackson. YES, camping in November! We had a great day, a challenging night (more on that later), but woke up on Thanksgiving Day ready to make the drive back home to Sacramento to celebrate another turkey day at Mom and Dad's. Another great day of stuffing ourselves full with great food and lots of family time. Spent the night at home, then drove back up to Jackson Friday morning, Starbucks in hand. It was great to be able to jump out of the car and have everything already set up. There's nothing like camping in November...

Chilly - temperatures in the low 20's to low 40's

Challenging - the first night we were here, we forgot Adam's pack n' play. Tried to put the kids to sleep on our bed...Daniel kept yelling that Adam was waking him up. Finally it was quiet. A while later Jay and I decided to tip toe in the room and move the kids to the couch. We slide open the door and wallah, Daniel's sleeping...Adam's reading a book! We knew there was no way he'd willingly be transfered to the couch, awake, so we decided to let him sleep in our bed. He was all giggles and so excited to sleep in between mom and dad. Mom and Dad were all giggles at first too...until the shifting came. Laying on our heads. The horizontal position. The backwards position. Jay eventually decided to share the couch with Daniel which led to Daniel falling out of bed. We both feel like we were awake all night. Good thing we were going home the next day and could bring the pack n' play back.

Rainy - embraced a day of rain...

A Time to Try Something New - Jason and Daniel went swimming and hot tubbin' in the rain and had a blast

Beautiful - trees are colorful, gorgeous views and beautiful sunsets. Christmas lights line the rooftops of many RV's and the clubhouse.

Relaxing - a cozy warm trailer. Magazines. Books. Online Christmas shopping. Naps. Time to blog!

Exciting - night walks with flashlights

Some adult time - Nana and Papa Fred watched the kids while Jay and I spent some time gambling at the casino. My big win...put in $10, won $20 and cashed out! Not a big gambler. :)

Delicious food - started a week ago today, and hasn't stopped

Just plain 'ol fun - loving the fun that we have as a family while camping. Bike rides, walks, playing ball, just hanging out. No worries, no stress, just lots of memories (and lots of pictures to capture the memories).
