Camping...we spent another weekend (beginning of August) at Jackson Rancheria celebrating Papa Fred's 70th birthday! Good friends, family, and fun.

Daniel turned 5 on August 16, 2010! He had his cousin Jake over to celebrate. We took the boys to pizza, the Sacramento Raceway, and glow bowling. They had their first of many sleepovers to come.

Daniel started his first day of Kindergarten on Wednesday, August 18, 2010. He was super excited to begin his "big boy" school. He picked out a Transformer backpack and a Ben 10 lunch bag. New clothes and new Sketcher shoes and he felt like a million bucks. He already knew 4 kids going into his Kindergarten class and is continuing to make more friends. He loves school and says he never wants to go back to preschool again.
We are now almost 2 months into the school year now, and Daniel is trying to earn rewards at home by bringing home stickers at the end of his school day. If the kids behave all day at school and don't get any "checkmarks," the teacher gives out stickers. Last Friday, he needed one more sticker for his chart in order to get his donut reward that he chose for that weekend. As I walked over to get him after class he was crying. He immediately said he was upset because he didn't get his sticker and he couldn't get his donuts. I looked down at his hand and saw some type of sticker and tried cheering him up by saying that it looked like he had one! He immediately replied, "I found this one on the ground!" -- It was a bar code sticker from some sort of packaging or produce!

Daniel also started soccer, and scored TWO goals in his very first game. The next game he scored two goals for the other team, and of course we were just as proud of him. Daniel is looking forward to the cooler weather ahead (if it ever gets here - it's October and we are still having weather in the 90's). The poor kid has his dad's thick mane of hair (which he'll be proud of someday) and gets a bit bothered when his head gets sweaty. Overall, Daniel is doing great and we are very proud of him! Here's to a great soccer season!!!
Adam, Adam, oh sweet Adam...
Adam is growing up so fast. He has twelve teeth...four top and bottom and all four molars. He's now cutting his cuspids, or vampire teeth. Adam thinks he's as old as his big brother and follows him around like a shadow and wants to do everything just like him. Adam used to like me to hold him so we could chase Daniel through the house or play hide-n-seek. No more momma. Now he wants to be down on the ground so he can be chased too. He screams out of excitment all the time. He loves to watch his brother Daniel at soccer practice until he takes off for the playground. Adam is a tough little tyke and loves to climb up the play structures and slide down the slides. He also thoroughly enjoys rough housing with his daddy and brother and is learning a few wrestling moves from Daniel which is tending to get him in a bit of trouble at daycare. But when the day starts to wind down and it's time for bed, I enjoy the sweet moments with Adam as he sits on my lap in the rocking chair in his room, sipping on his warm milk, and listening to his "Rockabye Baby" lullaby CD's. I love that he always pulls up his pajama shirt and forces my hands to scratch his belly. Man that little guy is strong, forceful, and knows what he wants! Sometimes, I'll just lay my hands down the side of my legs and see if he'll demand his scratches, and sure enought every night he goes seaching for his mommy's hands, and he never fails finding them. -- I will never deny a scratching session with my boys! I loved it growing up, so I'll always do it for my two!
